- Mobile number, email address and password at registration
- Profile details: name, gender, date of birth, denomination, education, occupation, family details, partner preferences and biography
- Profile photographs you upload
- Messages you send to other members through the Platform's chat
- Payment-related details when you subscribe to a paid plan (processed by our payment partner — see Section 5)
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Log data such as IP address, browser type and access times
- Usage data such as pages viewed, profiles viewed and searches performed
2. How we use your information
- To create and operate your profile and matrimony account
- To show your profile to other members and show you matching profiles
- To operate the interest, shortlist and chat features
- To process subscription payments and manage your plan
- To send account, transaction and service notifications
- To detect fraud, fake profiles and misuse, and to keep the Platform safe
- To respond to support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
3. What other members can see
Your profile details (excluding your mobile number) are visible to other registered members so they can evaluate a potential match. Your mobile number is never shown publicly and is disclosed to another member only after you have accepted their interest, or they have accepted yours, consistent with the Platform's mutual-consent design.
4. Data storage and security
Your information is stored on secured servers. Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt) and are never stored or transmitted in plain text. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Payment information
Subscription payments are processed by our third-party payment gateway partner (such as PayU). Holyweds does not store your card, UPI or net-banking credentials — these are handled directly and securely by the payment gateway, which maintains its own compliance and security standards (including PCI-DSS where applicable).
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Other members, as described in Section 3
- Our payment gateway partner, solely to process transactions
- Service providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g. hosting), under confidentiality obligations
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by applicable law
7. Cookies
The Platform may use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can edit most profile details at any time from your account
- You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing contact@holyweds.com
9. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your profile and personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.
10. Children's privacy
Holyweds is a matrimony platform intended only for adults of legal marriageable age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
